Timor-Leste’s government has insisted that gas and oil from the discovery called Greater Sunrise be brought for processing to Timor’s coast. Timor-Leste has stepped up a legal and diplomatic drive to renegotiate the 50-year maritime boundary agreed with Australia in 2006, which created a 50-50 split of the future Greater Sunrise revenue, despite some 80 per cent of the field being located on Australia’s side of the boundary.
