Syria: Syrian Farm Production Grows, but Is Still Far from Pre-War Levels

In their latest report, the Food and Agriculture Organisation and the World Food Programme have estimated that 6.9m Syrians are still food insecure, and an additional 5.6m would follow them without the regular monthly food assistance. As the scale of conflict in Syria decreases following tentative ceasefires and victories by allied forces in Islamic State-controlled areas, more farmers are expected to gain access to their lands, Yao added.
