A new documentary produced by the Democratic Voice of Burma(DVB), looks at the lasting legacy military land grabs have on business and bureaucracy in Myanmar. Crocodile Tears, which screens at 6:30pm this Thursday on DVB TV, follows the ongoing dispute between two well connected business people over a plot of land in Yangon. DVB journalists investigate claims made by both parties and end up following a paper trail of opaque transactions which implicates corruption at the hands of township, district and regional officials, and leaves the audience with more questions than answers.
