Libya: Nearly half of Libyan households drink water contaminated with dangerous bacteria

The Libya Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) 2024–2025, issued by the Bureau of Statistics and Census in cooperation with UNICEF, revealed the presence of E. coli bacteria in the drinking water of 46.4% of household members covered by the survey. The rate rises to 53.5% in rural areas, compared with 45.6% in urban areas.
