Knowing that corruption was prevalent among public officials in government and the negative impact it has made on the lives of ordinary Liberians over the years, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf told Liberians and the world when she was elected President in 2006 that corruption could be public enemy number one. Since 2006 up to present many Liberians have continued to criticize the president for not doing much to fight corruption in government especially at the time when the General Auditing Commission (GAC) continues to indict several officials of corruption and are yet to be prosecuted.
