Offering the opportunity of both a healthier diet and a cash crop, a pilot project being run in South Sudan with the help of the Milton and Blandford Deanery, has already successfully grown fruit trees and the Dorset group is now looking to build on this earlier work.
The Milton and Blandford Deanery has a long-standing friendship with Bishop Francis and the people of Rokon Diocese in South Sudan, sharing news, visits and prayers, aiming to support the people of Rokon in becoming self-supporting after long years of disastrous civil war. Internal strife is still present in South Sudan although the area of Rokon is not directly affected.
