Climate Change: Interagency Workshop Identifies New Approaches to Climate Change and Instability

The Department of State’s Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations and the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) Program on Climate, Environment, and Conflict hosted an exercise-based workshop titled “Enhancing USG Approaches to Climate and Fragility,”Oct. 10-11, 2023. During the event, held at USIP, more than 80 interagency staff were given scenarios based on National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasts vetted by the U.S. intelligence community.
