Bangladesh/India: Enclaves in Bangladesh: Reports of Scuffles over Land Grabbing

Days after Parliament ratified the land swap agreement with Bangladesh, there are reports of “law and order” problem over the alleged land grabbing in the Indian enclaves in Bangladesh. It has been learnt that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee rang up Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to take steps to maintain peace in the Indian enclaves. Accordingly, the Bangladesh administration was contacted by the Prime Minister’s Office and was requested to take necessary action.
