Afghanistan: Sowing Hope after Disaster—Rebuilding Lives through Agriculture in Herat

In October 2023, a devastating earthquake struck Herat province, severely impacting the districts of Zindajan and Guzara. Thousands of farming families lost their homes, livelihoods, and hope almost overnight. In response, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in partnership with Action Aid and with funding from Kuwait, launched an emergency initiative to restore agricultural livelihoods.
