DRC: ISIS May Target Mineral Rich Congo for Next Caliphate

‘Conflict Minerals’ of Congo have caused millions of death and the issue is old. Congo is rich in minerals like Cobalt, Copper, Diamonds, Tantalum, Tin, Gold, etc. Most of these minerals are extremely valuable and invaluable to the technical industry. For example, over 7 parts out of 10 of the commercially traded Cobalt originates from Congo itself. Cobalt is a very essential ingredient of electric motors because it is used to build powerful magnets that are essential in Electric Vehicles. Hence, the concern about Islamic State controlling the supply chains in Congo is a nightmare for counter-terrorism experts.
