South Sudan: Program Manager

The Program Manager plays an important role in the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) South Sudan's field management structure. UMCOR’s program areas in South Sudanfocuses primarily in the field of Emergency Relief, transitional to development work, which include but not limited to the following sectors; water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food security and livelihoods, health, education/child protection, camp coordination, and community development. This position is based in Yei County, Central Equatoria State, South Sudan. The contract is for an unaccompanied position for a period of 12 months, which is dependent upon funding.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of researching and writing proposals and budgets for program development
  • Working knowledge and experience of humanitarian principles, SPHERE and UN standards and protocols and procedures
  • Knowledge of Institutional Donors (private, US and UK government, EU, UN and multi-lateral donors) policies and procedures related to project management, monitoring and impact evaluation
  • Strong representation, negotiation and coordination experience gained from working with international NGOs and/or UN organizations,
