The post holder will support countries to focus on more sustainable water and sanitation programming, to ensure better quality and management of services in urban and rural settings.  This will require a strong understanding of the underlying drivers of inequality in order to identify better governance systems through participatory citizen and multi-stakeholder engagement. This includes an understanding of underlying socio-economic and environmental risks, to advocate for investment in essential WASH services in poorer and underserved areas, as well as develop appropriate programmes and projects that at the core of the work address resilience and sustainability.
