This project focuses on the use of renewable energies (in particular solar photovoltaic, mini hydro power) with productive benefits for agriculture, health and education. Sustainability is achieved through rural energy firms that must be established. The project places great emphasis on education and cooperation with occupational training institutions and local partners.

Objectives and responsibilities of the position:
The Head of Project is responsible for implementing Welthungerhilfe projects in the project region in accordance with the framework specified as regards content, organisation, time schedules and fi-nance. 

Your most important duties are as follows:

• Management of contracts and licenses for the sustainable operation of solar systems
• Planning and supervision of installation practices, implemented by a partner organisation
• Organising the handover of solar systems to beneficiaries
• Consultation, supervision and cooperation with local partner organisations
• Preparation of project proposals for follow-up projects
• Setting up a sustainable marketing strategy for pico systems
• Preparation of final financial reports for reporting to financing parties 

Your qualifications will include: 

• Relevant university or polytechnic degree or several years of project-related professional experience 
• At least five years of project and management experience in carrying out co-financed pro-jects of international (aid) agencies, preferably in the region
• Coordination and organisational skills - even under difficult local conditions
• Technical knowledge in the area of "rural electrification"
• Knowledge about the management of ec projects and experience working with partner or-ganisations
• Cooperation skills and ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and asser-tiveness
• A very good command of both written and spoken english, a command of german is an asset
