Job Description:

DAI is seeking qualified candidates for multiple positions for the upcoming five-year USAID-funded Feed the Future: Water and Food Systems for Resilient Communities program. The USAID/Uganda program will focus on water and food security for improved individual, household and system resilience. The geographical focus is on the Kyoga Basin, specifically three watershed zones –Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere– that cover the vast majority of Karamoja and portions of the Teso and Bugisu sub-regions.  People in these three catchment areas suffer from high levels of water and food insecurity driven by natural conditions, unsustainable practices, and poor public service provision, resulting in conflict, low agriculture yields, poor health outcomes, and natural resource degradation. Additionally, ongoing natural- and human-derived disasters (i.e., droughts, flooding, conflict, and cattle rustling) have continually undermined development outcomes in the sub-region, forcing many to rely upon humanitarian or emergency assistance. This undermines sustainable livelihoods, drives poverty and conflict, and limits individuals, households, and communities’ ability to mitigate and adapt to shocks and stressors.

DAI is seeking qualified candidates with a passion for building the resilience capacities and overall livelihoods of Ugandan communities. Please send us an application if you are a dedicated professional who enjoys being part of a dynamic team with previous experience on donor-funded programs and you have strong English language skills.
