Ukraine: WASH Project Manager

PUI intervenes in Ukraine since 2015, in response to the needs provoked by the conflict in Donbass. PUI develops its integrated approach with health, mental health, protection and WASH projects to improve and restore equitable access to quality health services as well as to water, sanitation and hygiene for the most vulnerable population living in cities located along the contact line in the Donetsk Oblast. PUI also technically and materially assists a large network of Health Facilities and social institutions  to improve the quality of care provided to the population.
In order to support the populations affected by the conflict currently affecting the country,  PUI is currently scaling up its activities in Donbass and in other regions of Ukraine.

As WASH Project Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of all WASH activities in the project, and manage PUI’s human and financial resources dedicated to the WASH activities.

For this purpose, you will be responsible for :

  • Programs: You will ensure implementation and oversight of all WASH related activities.
  • Human Resources: You will supervise the WASH team (PUI employees and any daily workers).
  • Logistics and Administration: You will oversee the logistics and administrative duties of the project(s) under your responsibility.
  • Representation: Upon request from your supervisors you will represent the organization to local partners, authorities and stakeholders in relation to the scope of the WASH project.
  • Safety and Security: You will assist in following safety and security rules on-base and will transmit all safety and security information to your supervisor.
  • Strategy: You will assist in developing new operations as needed.

What you will need to succeed

Training:

  • You hold a University degree or equivalent in water supply, sanitation or hygiene. If you have a training in project management, it would be an asset.

Experience:

  • Strengthened by minimum 2 years as a manager of humanitarian projects and by a successful experience in team management and in WASH management, you master water supply, sanitation and hygiene. A previous experience in needs assessment and monitoring of activities, or in NFI/Hygiene Kit distribution would be appreciated. You already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? It would be a definite asset!

Skills:

  • You master project management, network calculation and water analysis, you have good writing skills, also a good knowledge of procurement and contracts management processes. If you are familiar with procedures of institutional donors (ECHO, UNHCR) it would be appreciated.

Qualities:

  • You demonstrate the ability to work independently, to be proactive and to take responsibility. You are solution oriented, have good analysis, organizational and managerial skills. You are able to work under pressure.

Languages:

  • English has no secrets for you! All the better, it is mandatory for this position. If you speak Russian and/or French, it would be a definite asset.

PUI will offer you

  • Status : Employee with a Fixed-Term Contract
  • Monthly Gross Income :  2,190.00 - 2,420.00 EUR depending on your experience in International Solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
  • Insurance including medical coverage and complementary healthcare, 24/24 assistance and repatriation
  • Housing in collective accomodation
  • Daily Living Expenses ("Per Diem")
  • Break Policy : 5 working days at 3 and 9 months
  • Paid Leaves Policy : 5 weeks of paid leaves per year + return ticket every 6 months
