EcoPeace Middle East is a unique Israeli-Jordanian-Palestinian organization that advances cooperative efforts to protect our shared environment and create the conditions for sustainable development and peace in our region. Our projects focus on transboundary environmental issues, including the climate crisis, water security, the rehabilitation of the Jordan River/Dead Sea, and target youth, local communities, decision-makers, the private sector, and the international community. An award-winning trailblazer in the field of environmental peacebuilding, EcoPeace has some 50 staff members in our three offices in Tel Aviv, Amman and Ramallah.

We are looking for a “simulation and regional forum coordinator” to join our team in Tel Aviv. This is a project-based temporary position until Dec 31, 2021. The successful candidate will coordinate a  eries of simulation games that explore potential future scenarios dealing with public health, climate, and environmental challenges on a regional scale, as a means to assess and improve preparedness for current and future scenarios. These simulation games will be used to engage stakeholders in the region and exposure them to possible cooperation scenarios. The simulation games will be integrated into events that bring together a regional forum of stakeholders, as well as other groups of participants.

The simulation games will be built on a whiteboard application that allows active cooperation, interaction and video conferencing. The coordinator will be involved in the design, testing and implementation phases of the project, including assisting in the events’ coordination. The coordinator will report to the Programs Manager and the Governmental Relations Manager.

Main Task and Activities:

  • Plan, design and implement simulation games on the whiteboard application, including:
    • Work with other staff to build the concept structure of the simulations and define users, permissions, number of whiteboards needed, etc.
    • Work with designers to design the look and feel of the simulation.
    • Test and implement the simulation on the whiteboard application.
    • Support and facilitate the simulation
    • Train staff members and participants in using the simulation tool for various uses
  • Assist Regional Forum events planning and logistics.

Requirements:

  • Computer savvy, comfortable learning new applications
  • Thorough familiarity with user experience development
  • Experience with whiteboard applications, such as Miro or Mural – major advantage
  • Methodical, with attention to details
  • Great organizing skills
  • Fluent English and Hebrew
  • Hands-on, motivated person, able to work independently
