The EU Aid Volunteers initiative provides an opportunity to European citizens and long-term residents, from a wide range of backgrounds and with a diversity of skills and professional experience, to get involved in humanitarian aid projects, support the provision of needs based humanitarian aid in third countries and engage in volunteering opportunities through deployment.
Concern are looking for talented people with a relevant technical skillset who are committed to long-term service in the humanitarian sector who can demonstrate an outstanding ability to adapt to difficult circumstances, remain positive, motivated and productive.
Successful EU Aid Volunteers will benefit from:
- Experience volunteering in a large international NGO through an apprenticeship based in Concern's Head Office in Dublin
- Hands-on learning in a 12 month field placement in the Concern Lebanon country programme
- Opportunity for continuous self-development with the help of a mentor, line manager and on-line tools
Position summary
The purpose of this role is to improve the quality of Livelihoods programming in Lebanon.
Description
This project works to reduce unemployment rates and protect vulnerable people, particularly youth and women, against risks and shocks, Concern works to identify options for livelihoods support to vulnerable refugees and host communities in Northern Lebanon. These include business training modules, cash grants for business start-ups, support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), income generating and psycho-social occupational activities, as well as value chains with demonstrated growth potential with the goal to facilitate the access of the poor to assets, and enable them to use these assets to reduce vulnerability and increase resilience to shocks.

In line with EU Aid Volunteer daily allowances
