Tensions are rising between Vietnam and China over an escalating regional sea territory dispute that has sparked allegations of missile deployments by Hanoi and cyber attacks by hackers aligned with Beijing. Military and cyber manoeuvres have grown more intense after an international legal judgment in favour of the Philippines in one of a string of disputes over Beijing’s sovereignty claims and island-building in the South and East China Seas.
