China/Philippines/South China Sea: South China Sea Ruling 'Null and Void', Says Ministry

An arbitration court in the Netherlands ruled yesterday that it has jurisdiction to hear a few territorial claims the Philippines has filed against China over disputed areas in the South China Sea. The Taiwan government said last Saturday that it does not recognize or accept the ruling by the global arbitration panel since the Philippines has not invited the R.O.C.to participate in its arbitration with mainland China, and the arbitration tribunal has not solicited the R.O.C.'s views.
