Myanmar: MPs Concern Over ‘Land Grab’ Commission Continues to Mount

Hluttaw MPs have levelled renewed criticism at the regional and state sub-committees of the Land Use Management Committee, suggesting misinformation and a lack of transparency.

Speaking to Mizzima on May 4, U Min Thu (Pyithu MP, National League for Democracy, Oattayathiri township, Mandalay Region) said “Local sub-committee officials are reporting to the media that they are returning land but we have not seen evidence of plans for the return of land, let alone the return of land itself.”
