Liberia: Payment Scheme Might Influence Kosmos Oil Deal Ratification

From 2005 to now, Liberia has signed several agreement totalling over US$1.6 billion with nothing to show from the ratification in terms of jobs creation, boom in economic activities and other tangible impacts from these much publicized investment. The ratification of these agreements did not go without instances of deals, secret payments and the alleged awarding of other forms of gifts to members of the National Legislature.
