Bangladesh: Bapa Protests against Illegal Land Grabbing in Dhaleshwari River

Bapa has claimed that the Northern Power Generation Company, owned by an Awami League MP has been illegally grabbing land on the river banks and inside the river to construct a power plant, giving a deaf ear to the laws of the country. Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (Bapa) has formed a human chain, protesting the illegal acquiring of lands in and along the Dhaleshwari River, for the construction of a power plant, in Manikganj. The hour-long protest took place yesterday at the Shaheed Rafiq Bridge of the Singair upazila.
