Gem sales have declined at the 2017 mid-year Myanma Gems Emporium, which is being held at the Mani Yadana Gems Hall in Nay Pyi Taw between December 12 and 21. “As the new Myanmar Gemstone Bill has not been released, licenses of expired gem blocks have not been extended. As such, the number of gem and jade lots put up for sale has also declined and total sales and revenue has also fallen,” said U Hla Uang, secretary of the Gem Emporium central organising committee.
