Liberia: Civil Society Cautions Lawmaker about Tempering with Land Act

The Civil Society Working Group on Land Rights, a coalition of CSOs working on community land rights in Liberia is calling on the Liberian Legislature to not temper with the draft land act (LRA) currently before that body, saying it has learnt that the lawmakers have made changes to the act that could exacerbate poverty. The CSOs says the draft Land Rights Act is an important document that, once passed into law, will permanently change the land rights for millions of Liberians.
