Afghanistan: Iron, Lead Mines on Bidding, Salt to Be Extracted by Afghan Companies

The Taliban-run caretaker cabinet has tasked the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum to bid on the exploration and extraction of iron and lead mines, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Sunday. Chaired by Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the cabinet economic commission instructed the ministry of mines and petroleum to submit contracts on the extraction of salt mines to domestic companies, the news agency added.
