Afghanistan is facing a multi-pronged crisis. Due to the conflicts, drought and frequent natural disasters in the region, humanitarian aid is desperately needed for more than 6.3 million Afghans. This number presents a 90 percent increase from the previous year. In addition, 4.9 million Afghans need food assistance in 2019. Important changes are needed in the agriculture sector in order to adapt to changes in climate and prevent food insecurity in the future.
