The Quardu Gboni Citizens Association in Lofa County has petitioned the Legislature against what it refers to as "a bogus" concession agreement between the Liberian government and the Liberia Cocoa Corporation (LCC)granting the concession 6,000 hectares of the Quardu Gboni Districts land to the company to operate. The petition by the association was directed to the legislature through Lofa County District #4 Representative Mariamu B. Fofana and the Lofa Legislative Caucus.

In their petitions presented by the Secretary General of the Association, Mr. Mohammed S. Sheriff Tuesday at the Capitol Building, the citizens said their petition is in consideration of the inherent socio-economic risk associated with granting to the Liberia Cocoa Corporation (LCC) in QuarduGboni District of Lofa County an operational permit to use the 6,000 hectares land area which inhabitants predominantly survive on by on.
