DRC: DR Congo Wants Link on Uganda, Tanzania Pipeline

The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has shown willingness to use the Uganda-Tanzania Oil Pipeline set to be constructed in the country to transport crude oil from Kabale in Uganda to Tanga Port. The Minister for Energy and Minerals, Prof Sospeter Muhongo, made the revelation in Dar es Salaam yesterday when opening a one-day meeting of ministerial Permanent Secretaries and Regional Commissioners from regions set to be involved in the course of the construction of the pipeline. Prof Muhongo said he was today expected to meet with the responsible minister from Congo to discuss how they would be involved in the project.
