The European Commission is seeking the views of SMEs on the EU conflict minerals Regulation, which was published in the EU’s Official Journal in May. From January 2021, importers, smelters and refiners of tungsten, tin, tantalum and gold (3TG) will have to carry out mandatory due diligence checks when annual import volumes exceed set thresholds. The Commission is planning a number of measures to support SMEs in meeting their obligations under the Regulation.
