Almost two decades after the Australian Wheat Board (AWB) oil-for-food scandal unfolded, one of the key figures in the kickback scheme is again facing court. Trevor Flugge, former AWB chairman and Western Australian grain grower, led repeated AWB delegations to Iraq between 1996 and 2001. He faces four allegations of breaching his duties as a company director. It is alleged AWB funnelled more than $US225 million to the Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq to secure wheat sale contracts.
