From Rural Initiatives to Parliamentary Decisions: Women of the Fergana Valley Develop Solutions for Water Conservation and Rural Community Development

Women from rural communities in the Batken, Osh, and Jalal-Abad regions presented their initiatives on improving access to irrigation water, climate change adaptation, and reducing the risk of water distribution disputes to deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting, timed to coincide with the International Day of Rural Women, marked a significant step toward expanding women's participation in decisions that determine the well-being of rural families and the sustainability of local communities.
