A couple of weeks ago, the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) published a report on Colombia’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2017. According to this report, this country’s economy grew by 1,1 per cent. Remarkably, agriculture was the sector that grew the most in this period. The growth of this sector went up by 7,7 per cent. This is the second highest growth rate in agriculture in the last 15 years.  Within this sector, the cultivation of non-traditional crops and coffee contributed the most to this growth.
