Myanmar: Some Kantbalu Land-Grabbing Files Closed

Shwebo Township Court has closed some files relating to the Kantbalu land-grab after a five-point agreement was presented during a trial Tuesday, according to Wai Lin Aung, lawyer for affected farmers."We amended some words among the five-points agreed to in the past, but the words aren’t changing the essence," the lawyer said. "And then, the files that had signed agreements were closed. The remaining cases have to be closed next week."The agreement was signed in the second week of February. The remaining files are schedule to be closed on April 7.
