China/Vietnam/South China Sea: Chinese Ship Sinks Vietnamese Fishing Boat off Paracel Islands

A Chinese vessel rammed and sank a Vietnamese fishing boat off the central coast Wednesday, but its five-member crew was rescued unscathed. The boat was fishing in the Da Loi (Discovery) Reef in the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands when it was rammed by vessel number 44101, about which no other details are available yet, at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Committee for Incident, Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.
