Liberia: House Probes US$4.6 Million Land Rental Fee

The Honorable House of Representatives has set up a Joint Committee to investigate a US$4.6m Land Rental Fee for affected communities in which forest related companies operate. The Joint Committee on Agriculture, Forestry & Fishery and Ways, Means, Finance & Development Planning was mandated by plenary on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 to invite the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Finance and Development Planning to conduct due diligence in the report to Plenary in two weeks appropriate action.
