Iraq/Kurdistan: Abadi Promises 17% of Budget to KRG in Exchange for Ceasing Oil Sales

Iraqi Member of Parliament Bakhtyar Shaways announced on Saturday (Feb. 20) that Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has reaffirmed his offer to provide the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) its 17% share of the federal budget if it ceases independent oil sales. PM al-Abadi arrived in the Iraqi Parliament on Saturday to attend a session and discuss the changes in his ministry’s cabinet.
