The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has recently published a new standard for tin and tantalum. Issued on June 12, 2017, the “Responsible Minerals Assurance Process, Tin and Tantalum Standard” will become effective on June 1, 2018. The principle difference between the previous standard, the Conflict Free Smelter Program (CFSP), and the new standard, the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP), is the latter’s alignment with OECD assessment procedures.
