Liberia: Burkinabe Land Occupants ‘Claim’ Ownership in Grand Gedeh

Reports from southeastern Grand Gedeh County say Burkinabes occupying an estimated 500 acres of land in the forest bordering Cote d’Ivoire are laying claim to the land.The reports quoted villagers who fled the area as saying that the Burkinabes and Ivorians are saying an Ivorian citizen is claiming ownership of the land on the grounds that it was sold to him by an unnamed individual in Cote d’Ivoire.
