Myanmar: Myanmar Govt Issues over 16,000 Land Grants in Four Years

The government had issued more than 16,000 land grants in the past four years, a senior official said. He apparently made the statement in response to recent accusations that a charity headed by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi received special treatment in being granted more than nine hectares (23 acres) of land in Nay Pyi Taw for K5 million (US$3571) per acre.
