Myanmar: Jade Export Earnings Down

Myanmar has earned US$251.16 million (342.65 billion kyat) from exports of jade as of October 20, down US$70 million compared with jade export earnings of US$320.43 million from the same period last year, said Khin Maung Lwin, the assistant permanent secretary of the Commerce Ministry. The commercial exploration of jade is carried out in Lonekhin and Hpakant, while ruby dominates in Mogok and Monghsu and sapphires and other gems in Mogok.
