Myanmar's historic elections are just days away and one of the biggest issues concerning voters is economic development and the distribution of natural resources, particularly among the ethnic communities. Many are also concerned about the government's plan to build hydroelectric power dams along the Salween River. This river flows from the Tibetan Plateau to the Andaman Sea, passing through Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State.
