South Sudan’s Oil Minister Stephen Dhieu Dau has met with his Sudanese Counterpart Makkawi Mohamed Awed in Juba today to discuss outstanding issues relating to the 2012 Cooperation Agreement, which sets pipelines fees paid by South Sudan to Sudan, among other issues.

Speaking on Monday, Dhieu said the visit aimed to strengthen the Cooperation Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding between the two oil ministries.

“This is your second visit at the right track on the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement and this is to acknowledge our petroleum sector that has been a driver for bringing the two sisters countries closer and to promote the relation between the economies of the two countries for the interest of the two people,” Dhieu said.
