Developing domestic production and exports in the non-oil sectors is important for South Sudan’s drive for industrialization, yet its participation in global value chains (GVCs) is still in its infancy. South Sudan has great potential in sectors such as mining, agriculture, forestry, livestock, fisheries, energy (except oil) but supply capacity remains severely constrained.
