The South Sudan government on Wednesday dismissed claims by rebels loyal to former vice president Riek Machar that they have seized control of the strategic oil facilities at Palouch, in Upper Nile state. Government spokesman Michael Makuei insisted Palouch is "fully in the hands of the government," denying the rebels’ claim they control the largest oil block in the country.
