Myanmar: Over 13,000 Tonnes of Illegal Timber Seized in Four Months

From April to July of this fiscal year, the government could seize 13183.2095 tonnes of illegal timber, according to the figures released by Forest Department. From April to July of 2018-2019 FY, the authority seized 3481.3313 tonnes of teak, 4144.9981 tonnes of hard wood and 5557.8801 tonnes of other types of timbers. Between 2008 and 2018, the authority seized 374,080.211 tonnes of timbers nationwide.
