Problems with wrestling payments from the Kurdistan Regional Government are proving too much for Gulf Keystone Petroleum, the UK listed - but Iraq-focused - oil producer. The Kurdistan Regional Government had promised companies such as Gulf Keystone extra payments for exports under a production sharing agreement drawn up to encourage extra oil output. However Gulf Keystone was earlier this month forced to abandon exports of oil by truck from Kurdistan to Turkey for sale on the international market following delays in payments from the region's autonomous government in Erbil.
