South Sudan/Sudan/Abyei: More Than 30, 000 Flee Clashes in South Sudan’s Disputed Abyei region

The South Sudan government has disclosed that more than 30, 000 people have been displaced from Abyei State, a disputed area with neighbouring Sudan following recent attacks by suspected Misseriya rebels and Sudanese army elements.

South Sudan Inspector General of Police, General Pieng Deng Kuol told UN radio on Friday while he visiting the area that several villages north of the Abyei administrative area are now ghost areas.
