Ms. Beatrice Kollee is among several victims with $10.00 US receipts issued by the National Housing Authority (NHA) as authorization to squat on the land that now hosts the Omega Market. But when the government of Liberia, through a committee co-chaired by the Ministry of Public Works and the Monrovia City Corporation, ordered the demolition of structures erected by squatters like her, Beatrice and others were suddenly rendered homeless — with no prior notice.
