Tyndall and Offutt Air Force Bases have stopped work on disaster recovery projects due to a lack of funding. The repairs will cost billions of dollars over several years, but because disaster costs are not normally allocated, special funding is needed. John Conger, director of the Center for Climate and Security, says that it’s up to Congress to deliver the money to the affected bases.
