China/Philippines: Philippines Seeks Pledges to Suspend Unilateral Acts in S. China Sea

Philippine Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario called Tuesday for all claimants to disputed islands and other land features in the South China Sea to agree to suspend unilateral actions that would further escalate tensions.Del Rosario stressed the need for claimants not to try to change the status quo in the South China Sea, such as by undertaking land reclamations or stationing oil rigs in disputed waters, as they assert their sovereignty claims.
